GTUC STAFF RECEIVE FREE MEDICAL SCREENING

To ensure the total well-being of staff of the Kumasi Campus, GTUC has organised a free medical screening exercise.

The exercise which was organised by the University Relations Unit in collaboration with R&B Homeopathic Clinic, Kumasi to screen members of staff for eye defects, blood groupings, hepatitis B and diseases associated with excessive body weight.

In his welcome statement, Mr. George Akom commended the R&B Homeopathic Clinic for accepting the proposal to provide free medical screening service to staff of the university college. He also requested that the exercise be made a regular one.

Mrs. Barbara Tandoh, the CEO of the Clinic, explained the need for Staff of the University to have regular medical screening. She stressed that, most workers do not go for medical checks for the simple reason that they are always busy which could be dangerous.

 

She charged members of staff to go for regular medical checks to keep them healthy at all times. She also pledged her support in the form of provision of quarterly medical screening service for staff of GTUC.

In the same vein, the Tesano Campus In collaboration with PrimeCare Medical Centre, Accra has organised a free medical talk and screening exercise. Staff were screened for blood sugar, eye defects and physical examination exercise.
