Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) has held its 6th Congregation.
The impressive and colourful ceremony marks the end of four year undergraduate studies and the sixth batch of graduates for our undergraduate programmes. In all, over 300 students graduated from the faculties of Engineering, IT Business and Informatics.
The ceremony was attended by Hon. Gideon Quarcoo, a member of the University Council and Group Chair of Databank, Mr. Yofi Grant who was the guest speaker for the occasion. Other officials from sister institutions, media personnel, alumni, family and friends of graduates were in attendance.
Speaking at the function, the President of GTUC, Dr. Osei K Darkwa, said “GTUC’s uniqueness stems from the fact that, we are committed to what we do and actively seek opportunities to improve ourselves. This is evident in the number partnerships and collaborations we have established over the past few years. The most recent, being with Staffordshire University, UK.
This is a partnership that will deliver three year undergraduate programmes and masters programmes in the fields of Business Administration, Education, IT, Management, Sports Law and Tourism”.
He further stated that, GTUC has taken advantage of the partnerships to offer programmes that are exciting and industry relevant.
Mr. Gideon Quarcoo, a member of the University Council who read the welcome address on behalf of the Council Chair Prof. Walter S. Alhassan said “The University Council will continue to address issues bothering the welfare of Students, Faculty and Staff with a view to attracting and retaining qualified personnel so as to guarantee quality education. He assured graduates of their enormous potential and advised them to be optimistic.
A member of the graduating class, Mr. Prince Siaw Attrams said “The education we received has updated our knowledge, added to our skills and made us ready to cope with change. GTUC aims at equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to meet the demands of today’s highly competitive industrial environment. Today through GTUC, we have become proud graduates”.
