GTUC SIGNS MOU WITH INDIAN UNIVERSITIES
GTUC has signed two MOUs with two Indian Universities. The signing of the MOUs seeks to establish a closer collaboration between GTUC and the two Indian Institutions. The partnership with Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU) and M.S. Ramaiah University (MSR) are in the areas of students exchange for common programmes and courses, faculty exchange for capacity building and training and enhancing professional development courses in terms provision of human resource and research support. President of GTUC, Dr. Osei K. Darkwa, and Vice Chancellors of the two Universities, Prof. S P Bansal, MAU and Prof. S.R. Shankapal, MSR signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. In his address, Dr. Darkwa expressed his appreciation to the two intuitions for their readiness to partner GTUC and asked parties to remain committed to the agreement. Prof. S P Bansal in his response congratulated GTUC for its achievements over the last few years and said that, “GTUC is the first African University to partner MAU”. He further stated that he is hopeful that the agreement will be actuallised by close of 2014.
